Hello again!

I want everyone to know that the next manga club meeting is scheduled for September 25 at 2:30pm. Teens, don't forget to bring your friends! This may be the last Saturday meeting for a while as we're thinking about moving manga club to Friday for November. Post a reply or answer the poll to let us know what works best! See you soon...

Our next activity is...

this coming Friday. Join us for an anime festival. We'll watch Spirited Away and draw fanart from the movie. It starts at 3 PM, so don't be late. Oh, and don't forget to come dressed as your favorite anime character to show off your cosplaying skills! (BTW, you don't have to dress as one of the characters from Spirited Away, but that would be really cool). Also, we'll have a prize for the winning costume!

It's not manga or anime, but this author writes about some amazing vampires, so with that in mind I wanted to remind you guys of the New Moon party coming up July 9. (Also this Wednesday June 30 is the big theatrical release for Eclipse for all interested parties!)

Summer Reading Program

The summer reading program is now in full swing. If you haven't signed up yet, you should! There will be no regular meetings; however, there will be an anime party in July. We'll show one of Miyazaki's films (probably Howl's Moving Castle or Spirited Away) and have some fun activities. If you like to see a particular movie, please leave a comment. Also, if you have any suggestions, same thing. Hope to see you all soon!

Getting closer...

When summer arrives, I will have more time to devote to this page. Until then, let me share that the next meeting will be in 2 weeks, May 22 at 2:30 pm. So make sure to tell your parents that you want to come and grab your friends because I will have cosplay pictures from ACEN (the anime convention held in Chicago), and we will be drawing and creating our own manga characters!

The two I've selected so far include Onemanga, where you can read manga for free, and Manga Tutorials, which has lots of tips for drawing manga. So check them out, and I'll add some more info to the blog soon!

Hey everyone!
This is the new blog for Jacksonville, IL public library manga club since our old one was out-of-date. Soon I will add another post about what we'll talk about, so come back soon.
